Calibrate Point Data

The ATS GeoSuite App allows the Hydraulic Conductivity values to be calibrated to a real world value. This allows the user to apply a calibration point data set to an entire rendered model. To accomplish this task, the point must have been processed prior to calibration. If this is the case simply select the Visualize data option from the Project data menu.

Now select a point from the 1D View tab point list. In this case point 1 is chosen as it does not have any calibration data applied to it as is the case for point 0 on this project list.

Now select the calibration tab "CAL" then enter a hydraulic conductivity value in the Hydraulic conductivity box. In this case a value of 30 was entered. This value is unit less and is considered relevant to the users intent.

The calibration value entered must now be applied to a specific depth response on the data in the chart. To do this, simply touch the chart data at the depth value you wish to apply the calibration value to. Once you have done this, you will notice that the amplitude axis will change to show the new calibration values. To save this calibration to the point, click on the check button to apply the calibration to the point.

When the View tab is selected again, the point will now be shown to contain calibration data.

This data can now be applied to 2D and 3D visualization data sets by selecting the calibration point before rendering a 2D hydraulic conductivity contour plot or before gridding a 3D data set.

Additionally, point calibration data can also be applied to exported project data by selecting a calibration point to apply to the exported data before the project data is exported.

It is important to note that only one calibration point can be applied to a model on any render or export event. This calibration is expressed as the unit of intent provided by the user.
